Should I use solar power before using grid power?

I want to create a system that uses solar power (including battery and inverter) before using grid power. So for example if it is a nice sunny day, I want appliances etc to run off the solar system, but if the power reserves are low (at night or cloudy day) then I’d want to switch over (automatically if possible) to grid power.

I request you to kindly design a circuit which will change the inverter input from grid to solar power once panel start generating the power and should again revert the input from solar to grid once darkness falls and solar power generation falls.
